REEFTON—FIRST DAY MUNGATOON WINS MEMORIAL REEFTON, April 28. The Reefton Jockey Club’s Autumn meeting opened to-day, in light rain. The track was firm, but slow. There was a fail' attendance. Results: — FLYING HANDICAP, five furlongs: — 2 SILVER LARK (L. J. Ellis) 1 6 COPYIST, car. 7.11 (W. L. Johnstone) 2 1 ACCEPTABLE (J. Jennings) 3 Also started: 3 Metal Bird, 5 Queen Linda, 4 Bonnie Agnes. Won by a head; two lengths. Time 1.3. A hot favourite, Acceptable, was well beaten. The favourite took the lead from the jump out, but Copyist was on terms with Acceptable at the straight entrance, followed by Silver Lark and Queen Linda. Copyist looked a winner 20 yards from the post, but Silver Lark got up to win by a head. Acceptable, who tired badly, was two lengths away, then came Queen Linda, a head away. Tote £2938.

Four iSquare came on to win easily by three i lengths from Kay Francis, who finished well. Atarau Queen was two lengths away, finishing fast, and then came Colonel Wrack, Red Glow and Tarn. The six-years-old sprinter Delium, owned by Mr. W. V. Jones, of Big River, died as the result of internal haemorrhage, at Reefton, last night. Delium galloped well, yesterday afternoon, but afterwards showed signs of internal trouble, and died some hours later. Delium had been a good winner on the West Coast circuits.
