SHOPLIFTING ALLEGED
WOMAN’S JUMP FOR FREEDOM. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, April 28Arrested yesterday on a charge of theft, from a city store, a young married woman, while being interviewed at. the Central Police Station, jumped through a window overlooking the yard, but. foi innately was seized by Detective Lcug. by the legs, and remained suspended until, with the assistance of Detective Chalmers, she was lifted back. This was told in Court when she was charged with theft. It was stated that hei- home revealed property valued at about £lOO, which she admitted to the detectives having stolen over the past fifteen months. She was remanded in custody.
