John Lewis retained his’ light-heavy-weight boxing title last night by knocking out Emilio Martinex in the fourth round of a 15-round bout. BOYS’ TOURNAMENT. • A boys’ boxing tournament will oe held in the Town Hall, Greymouth, on Friday evening, and with'boys from all parts of the district competing, a splendid— evening’s entertainment is assured all patrons. Boys who have previously shown good form in tournaments, and who will be seen in action on Friday evening, include: R. Nelson, W. Meates, R. Kiely, V. Meates, K. J. Finlay, K. Coll, F. Davison, T. Mcßride, J. Nelson, Brown, S. Thompson and Rugg.
