DIARIES FOR HIS SON ELGIN, March 14. J Confirmation of Mr. Ramsay 1 MacDonald’s will was lodged at Elgin ■ Sheriff Court yesterday. It disposes of estate valued at £25,-118, on which estate duty of £2,561/10/10 has been paid. Apart from private and personal bequests Mr. MacDonald left £250 to the Margaret MacDonald and Mary Middleton Baby Clinic; £5O to the Children’s Hospital at Harpenden, Herts, for a cot bearing his name to be put alongside the cot to the memory of his boy, David; and £2O to every maid who was at the time of his death, and had been for three years, in his employment. He directed that his children should in their discretion give such of his books as they might think fit as mementoes to any of his friends. He gave all his letters, diaries and documents, and the copyright therein, to his son, Mr. Malcolm MacDonald, Dominion ■ Secretary, and trusted to his discretion as to their übe by publication or

! otherwise. Mr. MacDonald further directed that if still in his possession at the time of his death the picture, "The Falls of Clyde,” by Jacob B. Moore, be offered to the Scottish National Gallery and that the Chatham copy of the Foulis edition of Homer be offered to the Scottish National Library.
