Castles' and Miss E. Castles left, this morning, for Christchurch. Mr. F. Wilson left to-day, on return to Christchurch. Miss b. Scott left to-day on return to Christchurch. Mrs. N. Chapman left this morning, on return to Christchurch. Mr. D. McMillan left to-day, for Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. B. Morrison left today, on return to Dunedin. The engagement is announced of Leslie, only son of Mr and, Mrs 1 F. Wickham, Linwood, Christchurch, to Mavis Mary, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Bond, Palmerston Street, Greymouth. Miss Mavis Kyle, who has been visiting Greymouth, will return to Christchurch, by rail-car, this evening. Mrs. Olphert (Lower Hutt) and Mr. H. Olphert, who have been guests of Mrs. A. W Oliver, Cowper Street, left this morning, for the Glaciers.

Mr. V. Montgomery, of Tauranga, commenced duties, this morning, on the clerical staff of the Public Works Department, Greymouth, in succession to Mr. J. T. Rothwell, transferred to Aniseed.
