| [per press association.] PRISON FOR ASSAULT , TIMARU, Dec. 30. Elwood Cuthbertson was charged before Mr. H. Morgan, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Timaru, with assaulting Walter Robert Willmott and John H. Willmott. Cuthbertson was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment on each charge, the terms to be concurrent. Senior-Sergeant D. J. Hewitt said that Cuthbertson went into Willmott’s shop to see his wife, who was employed there. He caused a disturbance and was asked to leave, and .return after business hours if he wished to speak to his wife. He left, but returned and created another disturbance. It was alleged"! hat when Willmott, jun., remonstrated with him, Cuthbertson hit him over the head with a bottle. Willmott’s father, who intervened, was struck on the head | with the remains of the bottle, receiving a scalp wound.
