YACHTING
.LAKE BRUNNER REGATTA The first event of the annual Lake Brunner Regatta, which will conclude with a gala day to-morrow, was held yesterday afternoon, under favourable conditions, and before a good crowd of spectators. Sailed by the Canterbury yachtsman, J. Tissiman, the Greymouth boat, Mystic, owned' by Mr. G. Scott, won the Grogan Cup' comfortably, after sailing the five-mile course in 36 minutes. A strong westerly wind was in the yachtsmenjs favour, and made for keen sailing. The winner was a minute and a-half ahead of the second boat at the finish, while the’ third boat was a minute further away, just ahead of Vagabond.. The detailed result was:—
