A. & P. SHOW

VICTORIA PARK DISPLAY DISAPPOINTING PATRONAGE ■ i' t * ■’ ■ . • ■ «■ • Although the Committee of the West Coast Agricultural, Pastoral and Industrial Association made every, effort to make the fifteenth annual Show, which opened yesterday at Victoria Park, attractive and entertaining for the public, the support accorded yesterday was disappointing, even allowing for the fact that Judging Day is never accorded the same measure of public attendance as People s Day. In the majority of the sections the entries are well up to the number and standard of previous years, the horticultural section being a credit to the Show.

Judging in all sections was completed yesterday, afternoon, although • * the winners of numerous special prizes and. championships have yet to be found, from thei, aggregation of points. . The awards.of the various judges met with general approval, despite the fact that th'ey were faced with-difficult tasks. to numerous sections.. The amusement progYamme yesterday-afternoon was run off in good time, and kept the public fully entertained, while the trade exhibits and side-shows, were well patronised. , ' For People’s Day, the weather is, unfortunately, oyercast and showery, but the attractive programme of sporting events to be run off,. coupled' with, the comprehensive nature of the exhibits, should- ensure a satisfactory attendance.
