The White’s Electric Dredge washup’ this week realised 26ozs; MAORI GULLY. The return- from the Maori Gully dredge was 320 z 17dwt for 122 hours.

ARGO. The Argo dredge-is still undergoing overhaul and -repairs, but- is- expected to resume dredging |next week. GILLESPIES. .. ... . >4.-- v—\ v DUNEDIN February 27. Gillespies Return: 960 z. 4dwt. for 11L hours; -\.< NEMONA. The Nemona dredge did not wash; uip as usual this week owing to repairs and’ adjustments having to be effected, only three days having been worked for the week. The wash-up will, take place on Wednesday next. The dredge is again operating in virgin ground. BIG RIVER GOLD MINES. Report for the week ending February 23.—Surfacle: Repairs to the engine room culvert have been delayed by heavy rain. The water is at present getting aWay by the open cut; No. 4 Level: South stope- has; been finished and the pass timbered up the No. 3 Level and the men. transferred to deepen the centre winze. No. 5 Level: The rise was advanced! 10 feet- through reef track.- The total distance now up is 48 feet '6 inches; Placed timber in the south drive the face of which has been advanced 10 feet through reef track. The distance how in is SO feet. Inspected new reef in: the “Prima Donna” section, which is exposed- in the creek bed for about 30 feet in length and shows more than 5 feet of clean stone in width.

MARTHA REPORT. AUCKLAND, February 26. The following information has been cabled to London by the Martha Gold Mining Company (Waihi), Ltd., for the period ended February 13, comprising 301 days.— Ore totalling 25,635 tons was crushed for a result of 6485 fine ounces of gold and 29,527 fine ounces of silver. This includes 2647 tons mined from the Grand Junction, area, which yielded. 691 ounces of gold and 1966 ounces of silver. No. 3 level, driving south on the east section of the Edward lode: — The first 15 feet is ore of good grade, about 2 feet wide. No. 7 level, north branch of Martha lode: Giddens south rise is commencing, and the first 32ft assays 14/- a ton. The next 35ft is ore of good grade. The width of the lode is about 21 feet. No. 9" level, north branch of Martha lode: The drive east has holed through to former workings at 177 feet. DUNEDIN, February 27.
