B. GRADE BANDS CONTEST

W’TON TRAMWAYS WIN GREYMOUTH CIVIC. SECOND [PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NELSON, February 18. Wellington Tramways won the B grade Championship at the Dominion bands’ contest at Nelson to-night, being six points ahead of Greymouth Civic. The judge, Mr. E. P. He wished to congratulate the conductor heartily for the great detail he got into the selection. He was pleased also, with such refinement from a B grade band. He said the piece was selected for an A grade contest in England last September, and suggested that the same number be set for the B grade next contest, so that bands could have 12 months’ solid practice.
