(Recd. February 16, 1 p.m.) MELBOURNE, February 16. The result of the ballot, throughout the Australian Seamen’s Unions, for a general secretary was: — Jacob Johnson 608, A, McLaughlin 571, J. Keenan (retiring secretary) 314. Johnson returns to office after being ousted for a year. Keenan was the leader of the militant group favouring the strike in 1936.
