AMBROSE PALMER’S RETURN

MELBOURNE, August 11

The boxer, Ambrose Palmer, Australian heavy-weight champion, to-day indicated his intention of returning to the ring. He will probably meet Max Rosenbloom in Sydney in a few weeks. Palmer seeks a guarantee of £1250, which is assured. PLUTO’S DEMONSTRATION. Cyril Pluto, the Australian welterweight, gave a demonstration of scientific boxing before a large crowd at the Greymouth Town Hall last evening. With W. Wall, an Auckland boy, who is touring New Zealand with him, Pluto gave demonstrations of many of liis own methods, and moves, besides illustrating favourite punches and the methods of several of the best known Australian boxers, Jack Carroll, Ambrose Palmer, Ron Richards, and Leo j “Deacon” Kelly. Wall, and later Frank Bell, sparred with the Australian.

Mr A. Beban thanked the Australian for the fine exhibition he had given, and expressed a hope that the Greymouth Boxing Association would be able to book him for a match, on his next visit to New Zealand.
