mccready v. dusek

CHRISTCHURCH, August 11. Wrestling in a fast, exciting contest. McCready (16.12) heat Danny Dusek (16.3) by one fall, gained in the fifth round. Dusek made a verj favourable impression in his first serious bout in New Zealand, showing a wide variety of holds and counteis. and great strength in applying them. McCready's fall came from a press, after three successive slams. Dusek recovered brilliantly, out wrestling McCready in exciting seventh and eighth rounds. McCready, however, was too heavy and strong.

The finals of the Otago amateur wrestling championships were decided this evening. The winners were as follow:— Light-weight, L, Small; welter-weight, G. Terry; light-heavy and heavy-weight, L. Coughlan; flyweight, G. Murray; bantam-weight, B. Marks; feather-weight. A. Sands; middle-weight, R. Taurell.
