[BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. COPYRIGHT.]
(Recd. August 12, 2 p.m.) GENEVA, August 11. Representatives of sixteen million European Jews at the world Jewish Congress indicted the Powers of the world for permitting a continuance of Semitic persecution. Doctor Ebner, of Roumania, said: — The Powers are indifferent while Hitlerism tries to,- destroy the lives not only of German Jews, but Jews throughout the world. The world acted in our defence during the Russian pogrom of 1905. The situation now is infinitely worse, but the Powers are silent. Abraham Gohtberg, of the United States, urged Jews, to create allies among the democratic Powers, in order to fight persecution.
