INTOXICATED DRIVERS

ANOTHER WARNING

[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.]

WELLINGTON, August 11. Fining Claude Duval Victor Grant, 45. sales manager, £25 and cancelling his driving license for twelve months, for intoxication when in charge of a car, Mr Mosley, S.M., said that much as he disliked sending people to gaol, he wanted to give a public warning, ■ and he (rusted the newspapers would assist him, that in future, in cases such as the present, he would impose a term. The offences were too frequent and had to stop. The public were entitled to protection, and the Court would be remiss if it did not give it. Police evidence was to the effect that Grant was in a sufficient state of intoxication to be locked up in any case.
