Mr. J. Medlin has been discharged from the Grey Hospital. The August meeting of the Runanga W.I. was held in the Presbyterian schoolroom, Mrs. Swan presiding. Several visitors were present. Among those were Mrs. Smith, of Dannevirke, who gave interesting demonstrations. Mrs. Kaye, of Taranaki, spoke on Institute work. Competition results: Eedjacket, Mrs. Sweeney 1, Mrs. Jenkerson 2, Mrs. Hambley 3. Eggless cake. Mrs. W. Dupgan 1, Mrs. K. Griffiths 2, Mrs. Sweeney 3. An invitation was received to the Greymouth ,W.I. birthday. Tin roll call wj,tA Household hints. Mis. K. Griffiths supplied the best hint. Competitions for next month are to be crayon work and bran buscuits. Letters of appreciation were received from the Dental Clinic and Plunket Society, and others for donations received. Hostesses were Mesdames Dickie, McLeod, Glover and Keys.
