The council of the American Fedi eration of Labour to-day ordered the , suspension within 30 days of the unions headed by Mr. J. L. Lewis, . president of the Aline Union, and hav- ■ ing a membership of 1,000,000, unless i they dissolved the so-called Committee • of industrial Organisation, which was . formed to further industrial, as against • craft, unionisation within the federation. The council declared it could not tolerate the existence of a rival or- - ganisation and that a dispute might ■ threaten the disruption of the federa- , tion.
