In the Commons, Mr. Ormsby # -Gore informed Mr. Tom Williams that, as the result of representations regarding changes in the Constitution of Fiji, it had been decided to recommend to the King that there be constituted a Legislative Council, consisting of the Governor and sixteen official members of the five European members, three will he elected by communal franchise, and two will be nominated. The five Fijian members will be selected as at present, and of the five Indian members, three will be elected by communal franchise, and two will be nominated. While the details are being worked out, the present Council will be prolonged to December 31, or such a date, not beyond July 14, 1937, as is proclaimed.
