JOTTR own correspondent.] REEFTON, July 2. The three-year-old son of Mr and Mrs Clayton, of Jnangahua Junction, Who was admitted to the Inangahua Hospital ojn Tuesday, having swallowed some poison, was discharged today. ■ A yourig man named Sutton, of
Mawheraiti, was brought to Reefton yesterday afternoon, having severed the tops o° some of his fingers when cutting wood. He was attended by Dr. Wicken, and was able to proceed home; He was suffering from shock, in slight form, and loss of blood. The Refton branch of the Women’s Institute held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Mrs Duff presiding. There was- a good attendance. Mrs Austin was accorded a vote of thanks for her work-at.the recent social afternoon. It was resolved to celebrate the Institute’s birthday with a social arid
dance. Mrs McMillan won the competition for the best sugar bag article and Mrs Findlay was second. Mrs McMillan also won the first prize for tho plate of shortbread, and Miss Burns was second. A bring-and-buy sale was successful. The hostesses were Mesdames Duff, Campbell and Yellowlees.
