LADY C. CAVENDISH
APPALLED AT HOLLYWOOD
LONDON, March 21
Lady Charles Cavendish, formerly Miss Adele Astaire, the dancer, landed at Plymouth yesterday with her husband. on their return from Hollywood.
“I had a screen test and an offer to appear in films,” she said, “but I have not made up my mind whether to accept. Things are too exacting in Hollywood. I was appalled by the way people work there, and (io not think I could stand it.” Lady Charles stated that rumours that the film partnership between her brother, Fred Astaire, and Ginger Rogers was to be broken were untrue.
“They are quite happy working together,” she added, “and it is absurd to say that 1 may succeed Miss Rogers as his partner. He does need a rest, however, for he has got terribly thin through working too hard.”
