Maxie Rosenblom, former world light heavyweight boxing champion, is travelling by the Mariposa to Sydney. He is under a contract to meet the best Australian talent in the heavyweight, class. Rosenblom states that he has been promised a bout with Joe Louis in America in Septem her. SHEEP DOG TRIALS. The Grey Valley Collie Dog Club’s annual trials will be held in O’Malley’s paddock, Ikamatua, next Wednesday and Thursday, commencing at 9 o'clock each day. A good programme and a liberal prize list has attracted excellent entries from Nelson and Canterbury, as well as good support locally. Post entries are being taken for local dogs. There will be competitions in nail driving and stepping. A dance will be held in the Ikamatua Hall on Thursday evening. LEAGUE FOOTBALL Marist thirds v. Runanga, Wingham Park, 1.30 p.m.: Hopkins, Gough (2), Zampesi (2), Beams (2), Knapp, Rae, Kelly, Grogan, Minehan, Pascoe, Wilson, Keating, and Nohra.
