CANTERBURY’S PROTEST. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, April 7. Protests at the exclusion of a. Canterbury match against the touring English Rugby League team - were voiced at a meeting, last evening, of the Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Football League. The delegate to the annual meeting of the New Zealand Council, next month, was instructed to'do all in his poWer to arrange a match. The Chairman (Mr W. S. E. Moyle) pointed out that previous visiting British teams had been in Christchurch during National Week, when accommodation had been difficult to obtain, rle suggested that an attempt be made to secure some other date. As an alternative, he proposed that a team representing Canterbury and the West Coast should be selected, and the game played in the nature of a Test.
