The road accident figures’ in Britain last week, were responsible for 97 killed, and 3,337 injured. In the corresponding week of last year, the figures were 94 killed and 3341 injured.

BUENOS AIRES, March 13.

Luis Firpo, the former contender for the heavyweight boxing title, was acquitted by the court,, to-day, on a long-pending / charge' concerning a fraudulent real -estate transaction. After the indictment, the boxer fled to Uruguay, where he grew a dense beard for a disguise, and remained in hiding for several months. Tiring of exile he returned to face the charge, and won his vindication.

JEWS LEAVING GERMANY.

LONDON, March 13.

A fund of £3,000,000 is being raised by the Council for German’ Jewry, to finance a scheme for the emigration of Jews from Germany at the rate of from 20,000 to 25,000 annually during the next four or five years. The leaders of American Jewry have undertaken the responsibility for two-thirds of the fund. It is desired to raise £1,000,000 hi Britain, half of which is already in sight. Sir Herbert Samuel, Lord Bearsted and Mr. Simon Marks have appealed to the Anglo-Jewish community for the remainder. GREEK CABINET. ATHENS, March 13. M. Demerdzis has formed a Cabinet.
