TECH. v. NELSON In the inter-school match at the Recreation ground yesterday, the Nelson College first innings closed for 106, a fine partnership by Nansbaum and Maxwell scoring most of the runs. Both batsmen played good cricket, and after lunch they scored fast. With their dismissal, however, wickets fell cheaply, the innings closing for the total of 106. Gifkins was the most successful bowler, his steady length being rewarded with three for 9, while Thomson also did well to take three for 10. The Technical attack was not dangerous, but was steady, and was backed up by fine fielding. The Technical batting was. disappointing, the innings closing for 62, with Davy 15 and Sharman 11, the only double figure scorers. Tully, Nansbaum and Bray shared the wickets.
Nelson commenced their second innings, and at the adjournment had lost four wickets for 19 runs, East proving the cause of the downfall, with three wickets for 2 runs.
