REEFTON NOTES

[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, November 9. Thursday night was bitterly cold and residents were fearful of early growth in their gardens as a severe frost was expected: fortunately the frost, did not eventuate. Friday was sunny, with a keen wind. The recalls in the children’s singing competition at the community, sing on Thursday night were Phyllis Palmer, Isohel Clarke, Louis Kearns, Everel Collins. The Inangahua Rugby Sub-Union closed, their 1935 season with an annual ball in the gymnasium- hall on Friday night. The function- was a thorough success. There were visitors from Waiuta and Ikamatua. The Broadway Boys’ dance band supplied music and Miss Comerford played, extras. Mr. H. Kearns was M.C. The' lucky spot dance was won by Mr. Duggan and partner. Mr. J. Crossman, president of the Union, handed the trophies, won last season, to the winners.
