Milliken and Stuart, broke the London-to-Erighton-and-back tandem record clocking the world’s fastest hundred miles in an out and home tandem ride. They covered the double journey in four hours, nine minutes, forty-three seconds. When they were delayed at a level crossing they shouldered their cycle, and dashed through a subway. WRESTLING. SYDNEY, August 11. At Leichardt Stadium Johnny Woods and Tom Lurich drew in a wrestling match, each securing one fall. BASKETBALL. Reefton defeated Ikamatua. at Ikamatua on Saturday by 11 goals to 2. At Mawheraiti, Reefton and Mawheraiti drew. 3 all. At Ahaura, the homo team defeated Reefton 9 —S. WHEELBARROW RACE. Blackball residents, yesterday, encouraged by their presence the competitors in a wheel-barrow race from Blackball to Roa, a distance of two miles. The contestants were Orange and Waugh, jockeys, and McKechran and Kane, miners. It was a wheel and wheel struggle until near the finish, when Orange proved the better stayer and won by 100 yards.
