In the Supreme Court, Mr Justice Kennedy upheld the appeal of Matilda Howitt, against a magisterial and allowed her claim for £l4l, from the’ South Otago Hospital Board for negligent treatment by one of tne nursing staff. . , x Counsel for the respondent admitted that the case was governed by the decision in the case of Logan v. the Waitaki Hospital Board, and that the nurso was performing ministerial, or routine duty for which her employer was responsible. Jsafe stolen. WANGANUI, August 12. During the week-end, the premises of McGruer’s Ltd., were entered and a safe removed bodily from the office, and taken to the vicinity of the airport, Languard Bluff, two miles distant, where it was blown open. Only a small sum of money was secured by the thieves. The safe was discovered yesterday afternoon in some lupins. The keys of the office, from which the safe was taken, are missing. So far there is no clue as to the perpetrators.
