BRUNNER NOTES

[OUE OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Mr S. A. A. Fry, who has been on a short visit to Wallsend, has returned to Christchurch. Mr J. Bell, who has been relieving postmaster at Brunnerton Post Office, has returned to Greymouth. Mr Steele has been transferred from Murchison, and commenced his duties to-day. Miss A. Gainsford, of the staff Of the Taylorville School, has been admitted to Ngarana Hospital for treatment. At the whist drive conducted by the Taylorville Tennis Club in the Taylorville School, the prize-winners were: Mr J. Russell 1, Mrs Myers 2. Consolation prizes were awarded to Mr and Mrs P. Moore. Supper was served by the lady members of the cluli. The Brunner W.E.A. Drama Circle met last evening at the residence of Mr R. R. Smith, Taylorville. Plays were discussed, and it was decided to produce two one-act plays with a view to helping St. Saviour’s Ladies’ Guild. The production combined with a social evening and/ dance, will take place in October. •
