REEFTON, June 15.
Mr H. Morgan, S.M., was on’ the Bench at the fortnightly sitting.of the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday. The Inspector of Factories proceeded against D. Stewart for failure to pay an instalment of the general unemployment levy. Accused was convicted and fined £l. and ordered to pay costs 18/-. > , ' Reginald Hobbs, and John James O’Connor for running a passenger service between the Reefton Railway Station and Racecourse. Each was fined 2/6 and ordered to pay 12/6 costs. •
Charles H. .Chandler for operating an unlicensed heavy motor .vehicle qn a main highway without a heavy traf- •• fic license was convicted and fined £2/10/-, and ordered to pay costs 17/-. t ■ • In the prosecution by the Inspector of Factories against Aloysius Conlon for failure to deduct the emergency unemployment charge from portion of the "wages of one of his employees, a conviction without penalty, -was recorded. The funeral of the late George Kremmar moved from his late residence, Black’s Point, yesterday afternoon for the Suburban Cemetery. There was a large attendance. The burial services were read by Rev. W. F. Evans.
