STOLEN JEWELS
FROM COURT SAFE. PARIS, April 12. Gold and jewellery worth about £30,000 was stolen last night from the office of the clerk of the court at the Nice Palais de Justice. The stolen goods consist almost entirely of property recovered from former thefts and placed under seal.
The thieves entered the Law Courts during office hours, and hid in the roof. When the watchman was in the basement they cut a manhole through the ceiling, and passed into the oflice of the clerk of the court, where they broke into the safe.
Only those jewels were taken which could be sold easily.
