The death is announced from Toronto, of Sir Albert E. Gooderhani, aged 74. He was a distiller, financier and philanthropist, and died of strep tococcus, which developed from a septic throat. During the war he placed at the disposal of the British Government the distilling plant of Gooderham and Worth, converted for the manufacture of acetone, used as a solvent in the production of cordite, this plant producing three-quarters of all the acetone made in the Empire.

The death occurred yesterday at her home, Hatton Street, Karori, of Mrs. Isabel Hindmarsh Kissel, the wife of Mr. F. T. M. Kissel, Chief Electrical Engineer of the Public Works Department. Mrs. Klssell, was born in Reefton. Her father was the late Mr. J. C. Guinness of Reefton, and her uncle was Sir Arthur Guinness, of Greymouth, and Speaker in the House of Representatives. Her mother’s maiden name was Hindmarsh. She leaves a family of two sons and three daughters. —Press Assn.
