THAMES. March 22. James Morrison Fox, 37, married, appeared on remand at the Police Court to-day, charged with the theft Of £994/19/9, the property of the Thames Harbour Board, of which accused was the late secretary. The Government Auditor gave evidence that there was no attempt at falsification of the books and records, other than a cheque in a minor amount. Accused frankly admitted the shortage prior to the audit. He did not know the amount, and had given every assistance.

Accused pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Supremo Court at Auckland for sentence, on bail self £2OO, and two sureties £lOO each.
