FATAL FALL. | DUNEDIN, March 21. Fatal head injuries were, received by Henry Wigley, a labourer, married, residing at 59, Forth Street, through falling from a tram in Prince s btieet opposite the Strand Theatre last evening. He was admitted to hospital at 5.30, and died two and a-half houis later.

FATAL INJURIES. TAUMARUNUI. March 22. As the result of a collision between a motor cycle and lorry at Nihomho, last night, Harold Carter, single, resident of Matiere. received head injuries, and died just prior to admission to Taumarunui hospital.

At. the Conciliation Council to-day in the hearing of the hotel workeis dispute, the employers’ representatives made an offer of a 5 per cent, increase on the present cash wages, all the other provisions of ths award to remain as hitherto. The workers’ representatives are considering the offer. WELLINGTON, March 22. The hearing of the licensed hotels dispute occupied four days before the Conciliation Council and an agreement was reached, the terms of which are: Increase of seven and a-half per cent, on the rates paid in 1932, which represents half the cuts imposed on the 1932 rate. The provisions of the current award -including classification of workers has been accepted, with two minor alterations. The award comes into force on April 1, and continues for two years.

ARSON CHARGE. CHRISTCHURCH, March 22. A charge of wilfully setting fire to a haystack, valued at £120,-the property of William Rogers, of St. Albans, was preferred against Chanel Patrick Murphy,' 22, labourer, who was remanded until April 2. The police said that another charge was pending. ,
