Mr L. F. Casey returned yesterday, from Hyde, Central Otago.

Mrs J. Case will leave to-morrow, on return to Wellington.

Mrs R. Mclntyre will leave tomorrow, on a visit to ellington.

Mr R. Ireland arrived yesterday, from Christchurch, on a holiday visit to Greymouth.

Mr James Keating, formerly of Greymouth, arrived yesterday, from Wellington, on a holiday visit.

* Miss M. Armstrong will arrive tomorrow from Christchurch, to be present at the Fletcher-Armstrong wedding on Wednesday.

The resignation of Mr M. C. Colee, headmaster of the Normal School for ten years, was accepted with regret, by the Canterbury Education Board, to-day.—Press Assn.

Miss ■M. Greenhill, who ’has resigned from the staff of C. Smith, Ltd., Greymouth, to take a position in her ’father’s office, was met recently by members of the staff and presented with a fountain pen and an eversharp pencil. The presentation was made by Mr- R. B. Smith.

At the annual meeting of the United Rugby Football Club last evening, oc- . casion was taken to present to Mr. G. Gilbert a silver afternoon tea service, to mark his recent wedding. The presentation was made by the President, Mr T. P. Ryan, who spoke of the valued services rendered the club by Mr. Gilbert, and extended the best wishes of all member for his future good health and happiness. Mr. Gilbert suitably responded, thanking members, on behalf of his wife and himself for their valuable gift.
