Tho representative cricket match, Canterbury v. South Canterbury, commenced to-day. The home team in the first innings made 106. S. Mason scored 51. Hadlee took four for 12, apd Cromb 5 for 48. Canterbury replied with 166. Kerr made 33, Roberts 31 and O’Brien 28. Kane took 4 for 72. The home side had lost 1 for 27 at stumps.

Mr Whitby, criticising the Advisory Committee's resolutions, told the “News Chronicle’’ that the Committee apparently does not appreciate the Notts Club’s resolution to abide by the Marylebone Club’s ruling. The vote of censure on January 16 was not a vindication of the bodyline, but an expression of opinion that the members of the Committee ought not to have acted without consulting the members. The “Daily Mail" comments that the Advisory Committee has finally made it plain that the bodyline is dead.
