REEFTON NOTES
[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, December 24. Mr and Mrs O. Collins left for Christchurch this morning. Mr M. Henry is spending the Christmas holidays with his mother. Messrs Charles and William Mori arrived from the North Island on Saturday, for the vacation. Mr and Mrs F. Mayman are spending a holiday in Reefton. Mr and Mrs W. B. Auld left on Saturday for Wellington. On Sunday special services were held at all churches and the Christmas message was delivered from all pulpits. At Wesley Church, the Inangahua Silver Band assisted with the music and played as an anthem “Jerusalem My Happy Home." At Knox Presbyterian Church, the choir sang Christmas anthems, and the Rev. W. F. Evans chose as his subject “No Room in the Inn.’’ The dry spell continues and rain is needed. On Saturday evening a few spots of rain fell, and on Sunday afternoon the town was visited by a thunderstorm, but no rain fell.
