BUTTER PRICES
S. A. WOMEN’S PROTEST [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] (Rec. December 22, 11.30 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, December 21. The Dairy Control Board is about to authorise the exportation of a million lbs. of butter, in addition to a similar amount remaining from last year’s quota, thereby ensuring the retail price of 1/6. The National Council of Women affirm the surplus could be consumed on the home market if the price were reduced, and thus enable children to get proper dietary, consequently, it is advocating the abolition of the Board.
