VATICAN CITY, December 20.
It is expected that the four hundredth anniversary of the martyrdom of Sir Thomas More and John Fisher, who were beheaded in 1535, and beatified in 1887, will bo celebrated by their canonisation. The Pope is receiving thousands of letters from England, urging that More and Fisher were devoted supporters of Papal supremacy and the Sacrament of Marriage, which are important principles to-day. OTTAWA, December 20. The Government tariff experts report that the Australian Changes should permit, a considerably expanded trade both ways. Dividends, running as high as 118 per cent., in the textile industries were revealed before the Price Spreads Commission, and wages as low as two dollars a week, with an average of five dollars forty cents, Sam Factor, a Liberal member of the Commission,; declared that the revelations illustrated the folly of high protection for textiles, AUCKLAND, December 21.
