In the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia to-day, New South Wales in the second innings scored 225 (Brown 23, Fingleton 43, Chipperfield 62, Kippax 33, apd Horsfield (not out) 33. Wall took 1 for 46, Grimmett 7 for 90. South Australia, in the second innings, lost 5 for 110 (Lonergan 36). COLLEGE MATCH. WELLINGTON, December 17. Wellington College beat Wanganui Collegiate School in the annual cricket match, to-day, by ten wickets. Scores: Wellington 366 (Rainbird 88, Bezzant 68, Young not out 74). and nine for no wickets. Wanganui 156 and 218 (Burnard 49). Bowling for Wellington, Quirk took three for 56, and Bush three for 40.
, MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEET The fortnightly meeting of the Man- . agement Committee of the West Coast Cricket Association was held last evening, there being present: Messrs. F. H. Denton (chairman), H. S. Nightingale, W. Barlow, A. Eaton, N. Iggo, J. Stokes, L. Casey, A. Greenwood, A. Hopkinson and L. East (secretary). It was decided to close the fourth ■grade competition until the schools I resume. • It was decided to advise the Christchurch City and Suburban Association that, owing to players being unavail 2 able, the Association could not send a team to play at Christchurch in the New Year. It was decided that Messrs. Hopkinson, Greenwood, Eaton and the Secretary make arrangements for the proposed match with the Canterbury rep. team on December 25' and 26, and that a smoke concert be held on December 26, if the visit eventuates. It was resolved that the ordinary chib fixtures be continued on Sunday next, and that the fixtures be resumed, after the holidays, on January 6. It was decided to play home and home matches with Hokitika and Reefton on December 30 and January 1, and that captains of teams supply to secretary or selector a list of players available, not later than Dec. 23. The Malvern Sub-Association wrote ■ inviting a West Coast team to play at : Christchurch on December 26 and 27. —After discussion, it was decided to advise Malvern definitely to-morrow.
' FIXTURES. Fixtures were arranged as follow: — Sunday competition: Cobden B v. Marist A, at Rec. No. 1; Camerons v. Stars, at Rec. No. 2; Brunner v. Runanga, at Brunner; Kumara v. United, at Kumara; Cobden A v. Marist B. at Cobden. Saturday competition: United v. Tech., at Rec. No. 1; Cobden v. Marist, at Cobden; Tech. Old Boys a bye.
