BANKRUPT BUILDERS
NO INTENT TO DEFRAUD. [per press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, December 18. Judge Johnston gave his reserved judgment, to-day, in the case in which the Official Assignee, as the liquidator of Dodge Bros., Limited, builders and ccal merchants, sought a motion directing Frank Henry Albert Dodge and Corrie Re.dvers Dodge to pay him slims totalling £6Ol, of which £oBo has allegedly been taken with intent to defraud the creditors, and the remainder of which was incurred as debts when the company was insolvent. ~ After traversing the evidence, the Judge said that the case put forward in support of the motion had not been made out, and must be dismissed. The Judge added that he did not think Dodge Bros., in their struggle in a sea of difficulties, knowingly set out to defraud t]ie creditors, or knowingly incurred liabilities which they knew could not be paid.
