ITALIAN CRUISER
VISIT TO WELLINGTON [per press association.] WELLINGTON, November 17. The Governor-General has sent the following message to the Captain of the Italian cruiser Armando Diaz, which arrived at Wellington, this morning: — I send you and your officers and ship’s company greetings and a warm welcome to New Zealand, and trust your stay in this British Dominion will be enjoyable to you all. I regret that official engagements necessitate my absence from Wellington for the next few days, but I look forward to meeting you on Thursday next. (Signed) Bledisloe. The following reply was received: — I thank Your Excellency very much also on behalf of my officers and men , for your very kind message of welcome. I am sure we shall enjoy our stay in Wellington, and I shall feel honoured to meet Your Excellency next Thursday (Signed) Capt. Jachino.
