AUCKLAND BURGLARIES
COOK DESCRIBES EXPLOITS. [per press association.] . AUCKLAND, November 15. A young man who prowled in the suburbs, entering houses in the early morning and stealing money and goods, admitted seventeen charges in the Police Court, to-day. He was John Francis Schdroski, 29, a cook. Most of the offences were committed between April and October, when he stole £5l in money and £l4O in goods. Prisoner, in a statement, said that he usually operated between two and four o’clock in the morning. On entering a house in bare feet, he usually opened the front and back doors, enabling a speedy exit. He often had supper in the kitchen and drank the rnilk left on the doorstep. In one house, he was standing in a bedroom, wherein were sleeping a couple, when someone coughed and called, so he left hurriedly.
