THRESHING MILLS. CHRISTCHURCH, November 14. The North Canterbury (American type) threshing mills dispute was discussed in the Conciliation Council, today. The rates of pay and payment for shifting time were the only points argued. The employers refused to advance the previous offer of 1/9 per hour, and refused payment for shifting time. The employees, reduced their wages demand from 2/OJd to 1/10 an hour, but asked also for payment for shifting time. It was agreed after a long discussion to adjourn the sitting until November 26, and in the meantime, the employers’ representatives agreed to consult with the millowners.
