[OUB OWN COBRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, September 14. At the fortnightly sitting of the Warden’s Court, Mr. H. Morgan, presided as Warden. Applications—R. Wilson for Ordinary Prospecting License. —Granted. R. Wilson for Ordinary Prospecting License.—Objected to by E. Lemon and W. Lemon.—Application refused, costs allowed to objectors. R. Wilson for Ordinary Prospecting License. —Granted subject to existing rights and Forestry conditions. H. Gray and E. Riley for extended alluvial claim. —Granted subject to Forestry conditions and existing rights. W. McVicar, for a dam license and also for a water race license. —Recommended for Minister’s consent, subject to Forestry conditions. C. A. Gillett for leave to enter upon private land. —Leave granted subject to applicant undertaking not to damage crops or cultivated land. A. Walker and E. Comerford for ex tension of time to allow completion of survey.—Granted. Miss Dorothy Hislop is spending a holiday in Reefton. Mrs. D. McCullogh was a passenger yesterday for Canterbury. A basketball team representing Reefton Old Girls’ Club left yesterday for Christchurch where they will play a scries of matches. A quarterly meeting of the Motueka Licensing Committee was held at the Courthouse. Reefton, to-day, Mr. H. Morgan, S.M., was chairman. Others present were Messrs Austin and J. B. Discaciati. Sergt Hodgins represented the police and Inspector yfallwork represented the Health' Department. Renewals: W. H. Sission for Post Office Hotel, Collingwood.—Granted. J, H. McLennan for Motupiko Inn accommodation license. —Adjourned for three months. P. G. Sullivan for Criterion Hotel, Reefton. —Granted. J. A. Harwood for transfer to P. C. Bertelson. —Granted. C. W. Magee for leave of absence for two months and to appoint Thos. Bennett as manager. —Granted. At a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court, before Mr H. Morgan, S.M., Edward Charles Chandler, for using obscene language in Shaw Street, Reefton, on August 10 last, was convicted and fined £3, with costs £2 15/-.
