OPERA HOUSE, TO-NIGHT. A veritable “Who’s Who’ of the stage and screen appears in “Broadway to Hollywood,” dazzling pageant of half a century in the theatre in which great names of Hollywood and Broadway unite. The huge spectacle surrounded by the pageantry of thcatredom from the days of the famous Tony Pastor to the modern talk-film era, comes to the Opera House to-night and Saturday, matinee and evening. Its stars include Alice Brady, Jackie Cooper, Jimmy Durante, Frank Morgan, Madge Evans, Eddie Quillan, Fay Templeton, May Robson and Russell Hardie. At Blackball, to-night, “Hayseeds” will be shown, and at Wallsend tonight “Murders in the Zoo” will be screened. MASQUERADE BALL. The Mickey and Minnie Mouse Masquerade Ball to be held by the Runanga Labour Party in the Miners’ Hall, Runanga, to-night, promises to be one of the most successful novelty balls of the season. Masks will be issued free, and fancy dress is optional. The Happiness Boys’ Orchestra will supply the music. A public address system will be used for announcements, and the music will also be delivered by this source. The floor of the hall is in excellent condition, members of the committee working late last night to ensure a. perfect dancing surface. The supper to be provided by the ladies’ committee promises to be of high order. Coburn’s bus leaves the Greymouth Post Office at 8.15, returning after the Ball.
