KUMARA NOTES
[opr own correspondent.] At the monthly meeting of the Kumara Women’s Institute Mrs. Reedy presided over a good attendance, one new member being enrolled. It was decided to hold the first birthday on July 4, when the members of several other neighbouring Institutes would be invited. The competition for the best plate of sweets (one variety.) was won by Miss A. Flamer, with Mrs. Peever second and Miss Castle third. The various sweets were then sold. Mrs. Rooney gave a demonstration on “How to wash a patient in bed.” Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses. Mrs. A. Fensom. Miss Reedy and Miss Millson. Mr. Les. Martyn leaves for Waimalc on. Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Rooney, who have been <v mding a. month’s holiday in Dunedin. rc.itrm.d to town on Wednesday.
