There have been a few small lots of potatoes going north, and a shipment is aboard the Waipiata, which loaded at Lyttelton to-day. There is a shade more inquiry, but values remain unchanged from £4/2/6 to £4/5- per ton, f.0.b., s.i. Farmers are not free sellers at the equivalent on truck value of £3 per ton. A few potatoes arriving at the port .have been rejected on account of being unripe. The sharp frost of this morning will help to harden the skins. The season, apparently, is late. Fowl wheat remains unaltered at 2/4 per bushel, f.0.b., s.e„ for prompt. There is not much offering. Partridge peas met with some inquiry during the week. Values are 4/1, f.0.b., s.i., or 3/6 on trucks. The small seeds market is unchanged.

AUSTRALIAN BUTTER.

WELLINGTON, April 14.

The Dairy Board has been advised by the Australian Board that the minimum prices at which Australian butter may be sold for forward shipment to the United Kingdom, next week, have been fixed the same as last week. BUTTER AND CHESE. The following cablegram has been received by Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Greymouth, from their London office, dated April 13: — Butter: Market slow. Danish 82/- to 84/-; New Zealand finest 69/to 70/-; Australian finest unsalted, 68/- to 70/-; Australian finest salted, 68/- to 69/-; Australian G.A.Q., 66/- to 67/-. Cheese: Market slow. ADDISON’S FLAT DIVIDEND.

WESTPORT, April 13.

At a meeting of the Addison’s Flat Gold Mining Co., last night, a dividend of 121 per cent, was declared, payable on April 29. A substantial sum was placed to reserve. Since starting operations, sluicing has been carried out for 20 weeks, the profit for the period being about 30 per cent, of the capital of the company. BELL HOOPER-CROMWELL. The report of Bell Hooper-Cromwell Gold, Ltd., for the week ended April 7, is as follows: —The mine recommenced operations on April 3, following the Easter holidays. The drive off No. 1 Drive Block X has advanced to 22 feet past No. 2 North Stope. The bottom of this drive is 3ft 6in in sandstone, the balance being in wash carrying gold. No. 2 Tunnel: The crosscut to the west along the Sarita Boundary has advanced 63 feet, and is still in the bedded lake deposits which underlie the gravel deposits.

Steady progress is being made with the construction of No. 2 washing plant. The bin frames have been built and the lining completed. The pump unit and winch with motor and starter has arrived on the ground. The wash up for eight days ended April 6, was 59ozs 7dwts 22grs.
