Torrential rain fell over the whole of the North Coast; The Caboolture River broke its banks. Farms were flooded and the farmers were forced to leave their homes at midnight, there being several feet of water in some houses.

A terrific storm broke over the township of Jericho, and a thunderclap shook the buildings. Richard Fitzgerald, 48, was struck dead by lightning, while sheltering under a tree. CARCASES IN TREES ADELAIDE, April 14. Rain which fell east of the Burra resulted in serious floods.
