SPEED BOAT RACES [FEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] BLENHEIM, November 7. Speeds in excess of fifty miles an hour are expected, this year, in the Masport Cup race, the speed boat championship of New Zealand, to be run at Picton Harbour on January 22, Wellington’s anniversary day. The Jelo with Which the Cup was won at Auckland last year, has been remodelled, and will be renamed. It should be capable of 55 miles. Another local boat is John Brownlee’s Pelorus Jack senr., which, is also expected to reach fifty. F. Freeman (Wanganui) has challenged with a specially-built boat, and it is also expected that Aucklandwill be represented, while there is some talk of southern competitors, but nothing definite yet. GOLF. SYDNEY, November S. The Cammeray professional, A. Keane, has received details of Kwhwood’s and Sarazen’s visit to New Zealand and Australia. The pair will leave America in January arrive at Auckland on February 10, play at, the principal centres in th. r e> Dominion, and arrive at Sydney on February 26.
