Circulars have been forwarded to all communities in the club’s area, and, judging from the re-; plies (especially in the smaller locali-; ties) the keen interest that is being taken in the club movement augurs' well for the success of aviation on the Coast. Since that meeting a further eight persons have made application for membership, of which four have paid their subscription. I am pleased to report that one of the last eight applications came from the first lady to show any real interest in our movements, and I understand that she has every intention of taking on flying. A Post Office Savings Bank account has been opened on behalf of the club, and the sum of £lB/18/- now lies to our credit. Some of the necessary books and stationery have been purchased.

It was resolved that further circulars be forwarded' to all those previously circularised' advising of progress to date.

It was decided that the election of patrons be left to each ’drome committee, and that the Greymouth sector proceed with t,he election of those patrons within the precincts of the Greymouth Aerodrome. Arising from the Secretary’s report, a prolonged discussion took place on the subject of the tentative arrangement for instruction of pilots, and upon advice being received from the Director of Air Services, the proposals will be placed before the committee for finalisation.

In view of the progress already made and the possibility of proceeding to incorporation at an early date, it was decided to institute a systematic canvass of the Greymouth sector in order to extend all intending members the opportunity of joining on the foundation basis.
